New Advertisement Out Today
Well, my new advertisement has just been released in Golfweekly today! Here it is below:

This is actually a composite that used a background stock photo (rights managed) and a foreground image.
I shot the photography for the foreground image in our studio. We used Jeff Shepherd, our marketing manager as the model for the foreground. Once I layered the two images on top of each other, I created a single image, brought it over to illustrator and laid out the copy and logos.

Pre-touched up background stock photo.

Final Image.
This advertisement will be running in most golf publications world wide: Golf Digest, Golf Magazine, Golf World, Golfweekly, PGA Magazine, & Golf Tips. I’m sure I’m missing a couple other pubs. Right now I’m working on new comps for the Golf for Women publication. I’ll post some of the comps and ideas where that was going and is now going later on. I still need to work on that!

I actually saw this ad in GD today and thought it was very affective. I like the story it tells and the complexities seemingly going through the player’s mind as he prepares for the shot. It also does an excellent job of advertising the grip itself without covering it up too much. Very well done.
If I had one quip, it might be that the color balance between the player and the background needs to be balanced — you can tell that it was stripped because the background is so warm, yet the player looks neutral (studio lit). Other than that, excellent composition.
